  • About The Role

  • 🌙 Evening Support Worker – Out of Hours & Duty Team

    📍 Liverpool, Manchester & Preston
    🕐 2pm–12am
📅 3 shifts one week / 4 shifts the next
🚗 Full UK driving licence + access to a vehicle essential

🌟 Some of the most important moments in someone's support journey don't happen between 9 and 5. That's where you come in.

Our Out of Hours & Duty Team is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Evening Support Worker to join us.

You'll work across all our provisions, so no two evenings will look the same. You could be supporting:

🏠 Families and single people experiencing homelessness
    🌍 People seeking asylum
    👧 Separated children
    🧑‍🦱 Young people leaving care
    🏥 Adults accessing NHS services
🧠 Adults experiencing mental health difficulties
💙 People living with trauma or PTSD
🤝 People experiencing drug or alcohol addiction
🔑 People with a range of complex support needs

👀 What could your evening look like?

You might start by checking in with services before heading out to complete a welfare visit with someone who has recently moved in.

Then your phone rings — there's an emergency referral that needs a response.

Later, you could be dealing with an ASB or noise complaint, supporting someone experiencing a mental health crisis, checking on a vulnerable person or working with colleagues and professionals to resolve an issue.

It's varied, fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable — but that's what makes this role so important.

🚨 Lone working & keeping yourself safe

Lone working is a key part of this role.

You'll regularly travel between services and attend situations where you may be working independently. You need to be confident:

Assessing risk and making sensible decisions
✅ Being aware of your surroundings
    ✅ Maintaining professional boundaries
✅ Managing challenging or unexpected situations calmly
✅ Knowing when to deal with something independently and when to seek advice or escalate
✅ Following lone-working and safeguarding procedures

Your safety matters too. We need someone who understands that good support starts with keeping yourself safe as well as the people you support.

    💼 What we're looking for

Experience supporting people with complex needs
    ⭐ Experience working anti-social hours
⭐ Confidence working independently and as part of a team
    ⭐ Good safeguarding knowledge
⭐ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
⭐ Good IT and record-keeping skills
    ⭐ Resilience and a person-centred approach
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or willingness to work towards it

    ⏰ The hours

This is a 7-day service, so you'll work Monday–Sunday with alternating weekends expected.

Your shifts will initially be either 2pm–12am (10 hours), working 3 shifts one week and 4 the next.

Shift times may vary depending on the needs of the people we support, and some flexibility can be discussed at the outset.
